The Uncanny Valley Effect
The uncanny valley is a term used to describe the relationship between the human-like appearance of a robotic object and the emotional response it evokes. Today, it is used to address the similarities and differences between humans and their AI counterparts.
AI Content Creation on Instagram
Our latest Reel for @TaroFilms Instagram dives deep into why we're so susceptible to AI-generated people on social media. The same study indicated that participants perceived AI accounts and influencer accounts as more attractive than regular public accounts. They also rated the quality of AI-generated content as highly as that created by human influencers. This suggests that the aesthetic appeal of AI-generated women can be a factor in users' susceptibility.
AI Model Changes
While older AI generations might have produced images that were "off" enough to be noticeable, newer models are increasingly overcoming the "uncanny valley" effect, making AI-generated faces almost indistinguishable from real ones.
